Thanks for the input guys. I don't know if I'm going to upgrade though, because according to people I've talked to so far, it seems like the speed issues are due to the software (non-native on intel macs) rather than the hardware .

yeah, what software. if it isn't a universal application you won't benefit from having more ram very much.

but get ram anyways since it is pretty cheap. pc or mac, ram is ram to me, the cheapest that will fit will do.
