Is anyone thinking about going to Wurth Motorsports 3/25 event at Spring Mountain?

This event is not until MAY (5/25) - the thread title is wrong and can't be changed. Memorial Day weekend!!
Hi all. Just wondering if anyone has been to this track, whether it's a good first event for a novice driver (namely, me) and if anyone is thinking about going to this event?

Also, does anyone know long it takes to get there? Mapquest estimated 240 miles and 6 1/2 hours from Walnut (Walnut to Vegas per maquest was 250 miles and 4 hours) - what's causing the extra 2 1/2 hours?

Pm fluxen about this, it is his event. And as for mapquest I can make Vegas in 4 hours from SD and Parphump is about 45min to hour west of Vegas. I have made it from SD to Parphump in 5 hours. O'Yea I signed up for this already, If you go get the instructor.

Spring Mountain was designed with the driving school in mind, and is therefore an excellent track for novices. It has all the elements (fast sweeper, tight technicals) to expose you to a variety of driving experiences, while still being low-speed enough to be *pretty* safe. I say "pretty" because anytime you're pushing it on a track, "pretty safe" is as safe as it gets.
The Streets of Willow Springs and Spring Mountain are the two ideal tracks in our area for novices. Buttonwillow isn't bad, but with 23 turns it's complicated for a newbie to get a handle on, and the Big Track at Willow Springs is far too high-speed to recommend for a first timer.
Anyway, hope to see you out there, and remember that this event will sell out faster than Streets did, so don't wait too long!

Thx, fluxen! I just signed up - both days + instructor for both days. Counting the days til May...
REVISED: I'm driving + instructor on Saturday 5/25 only. Don't think I'll have to energy to get my $$'s worth on Sunday.

S2R, are you driving both days at Pahrump? BTW, I bought your ticket for the O Show last night, it's for May 25th, 10:30PM at the Bellagio.
