Anyone Got Old Wood?
Just like the title says. Does anyone have old wood? (no homo).
I am looking for wood that's 80+ years old, It can be a gate, table, door, picture frame, etc. anything, it doesn't really matter I will be cutting it up and reusing it.
Any leads would be great, if not I'll have to go out and find a 100 year old barn to cut up.

There are suppliers with aged wood but generally its VERY pricey.
What kinda pieces are you needing? Large furniture pieces or anything or what?
Old hardwood floors for example can be found in old homes that get demolished but people usually buy the old wood up for big $$.

Ok here's what I am doing. I am making someone a wedding gift, it will be made of copper, steel and wood. It will be sunk to the bottom of the ocean, hidden, locked, beaten by the elements and left there to be aged. Later it will be recovered and gifted.
The older the wood the better, metal and copper will age fast around salt water, wood will not.
It only has to be about 18"x18" or bigger, I will cut it down and shaped.
Get what I am doing?

I have a really old home made bench/table at home i never use. It sits in the corner. I don't think its 80 years old though. But i can say the wood has aged a bit.
I am looking for some old splintered wood, redwood maybe?
I can faux finish it into being made to look old, but I would prefer it was old and authentic to match their home.
