shop will have the money directly from the insurance and i dont get to do some adjustment with that money?

a claim rep from your insurance companywill come and take a look at your car, calculate the the damage and will write a check out to you. if you're going through the other persons insurance company, someone from his or her company will come and quote your damages (labor and parts) and send you a check. take your car to a body shop (mobworks in orange) and they will give you their quote. if the cost is actually more than the actual check, mobworks will call the insurance company and collect the difference.
miguel at mobworks is real cool. call him and see what he can do.

the adjuster or appraiser will get an agreed price w/ the shop. if it's a two party check i.e. your name and shop, the shop will generally have you sign a power of attorney form(or similar) so they may cash the insurance check on your behalf to repair the vehicle.
btw i'm one of those insurance people
