Not true. There are two noise laws. 1. DB law 2. A law that says your car can't be louder than the rest of traffic. wtf..

There is 0 exhaust out there that is UNDER or at 92DB. Even a AEM intake at Laguna Seca FAILS sound check at station #5.

Off highway can do 96 >1998 and 101<1998, regular cars, is less.

If you read the 50 feet rule again, "produces a maximum noise level that exceeds the following noise limit" Which means if the OFF road produces more than the standards, then it is subject to be tested 96/101 <>1998

Any OFF road is subject to identification IF it exceeds the MAXIMUM noise level... which is what I outlined above.
