ok, so does anyone who has had a fix-it exhaust ticket before know whether they check VIN numbers?
The original cop/pig never checked my VIN, all he did was ask me for the year of my car. As far as I know, I don't think they can tell apart an 00 vs an 02 AP1.
Do they check VIN's a majority of the time, sometimes, or rarely?
If you happen to know the answer, I would def appreciate it
Thanks much
hopefully some of this info will help those of you in the near future. i know more and more of us will get pulled over for "modified exhaust" in the near future

You could of taken off your aftermarket and put on a OEM and get it signed off already.

i got one of these before and the "Correctable" box was checked. I went to CHP to have it signed off and the LEO said they don't sign these off and he referred me to a state ref.
the ref did a sound decibel test and it passed. he didn't care much for the intake or the high flow cat. gave me a ref/bar sticker, took it to court and paid like $30 if i remember right. REF was free.
