are those original miles? if so then dont use synthetic oil until you get to 10,000 miles. amsoil is a very good oil see the "oil journals" I like the 10-30w in mine. it seems to use less oil. you can order it online. drive safe

That is what I use and doesn't burn oil at all. Good stuff...

I've heard good stuff about it, but sometimes using a "different" oil might void the powertrain warranty in your car.

Why would it void the warranty? How would they know which oil it is? They might know if it is synthetic of organic but will they know which brand without taking a sample and testing it? Would like to know for my own info.

There has been many issues with American Honda and using other substances other than the recommended oil. If you blow a piston/head/ or what ever that maybe, you know Honda will do a full investigation before they pay out for a new engine. Just by checking the seals and gaskets, they will be able to tell what you are using. Syn. bonds differently.

There was a case where a member was using redline for the diffy, and it went out. Honda did some research on there and found out that the factory oil wasn't used. Not only that, the service wasn't performed at Honda, so they rejected the claim. Anytime, you don't follow the manual and its sch dates, your warranty goes, same as aftermarket products. Honda will ALWAYS assume that the aftermarket produts caused the problem until you can prove that the oil/aftermarket products didn't cause the problem, is almost impossible because none of us have a degree or solid background in automotives.

How do they know? They read the board and take down notes. If you remember, just a few weeks ago, a certain individual released some info about the 2005 Honda, not naming, but I was contacted IMMEDIATELY by honda, to remove the post. Just lets you know, there are people watching.

If you are unsure, you can PM the rep from American Honda. I am sure you know who he is and he can further assist you.

Helpful info, good to know. Didn't know they were that picky but when it comes to money they will find what ever they can to not have to pay out.

So there you have it guys, if you are not using what Honda recommends you guys (and myself) are assed out!

Thanks for the info!
