Advice on Los Angeles parking ticket
Have any of you fought parking tickets before? I parked infront of a restaurant and apparently from 3-7pm (i ran out to my car at 3:15) you can not park there. The sign was way down the street and the tow truck guys got the stingers on my front wheels but haven't lifted the car in the air yet.
Anyways, they issued me the towing ticket and the parking ticket which is outrageous since they didn't even tow the car yet. I paid the initial fees so they didn't tow the car.
Have any of you fought the court and won? Details? Tips? Anything will help, together both tickets are over $380.

Parking is run by a private company in most cities and is impossible to beat.

damn it was that high? Last time I got a parking ticket in downtown LA it wasn't that bad, but similar situation, the sign says no parking from 4-6pm but it was way down, but for me they had already towed my car and I couldn't pick it up until the next day... Had to take the redline to union station and the Metrolink from union station to Irvine and my friend picked me up... Then had to drive to the tow station to pick up my car the next day...
Even then, my parking ticket was around $60 and my tow was $150... All because I didn't want to pay $5 to park...

i've gotten so many tickets when i was commuting to UCLA. westwood/west LA is by far the worst. those parking cops are like vultures. just waiting to strike...

Yeah I would agree, just pay the fine and be done with it.
Only advice I can give is whenever in LA always check where you park since you'll always be held accountable. My co worker got towed in Marina Del Rey when he decided to park in a lane that was designated to change to a overflow traffic lane after 3. He ended up paying 400+ for towing and 80+ for the parking fine. It sucks but ultimately he should of checked....

don't be a cheap ass when you park in downtown area of a city
I pay about $120 for ticket, about $170 with the tow and 1hr storage (I walk there for about 40mins)

You should go tow the tow truck. LOL
Her car was on the tow truck when she came back.
Those guys won't let her go with her car.

blame on me blind or what not.
I even had a second parking ticket somewhere near the court in Downtown LA.
I saw this car left, so I took his spot. Checked for the sign for 5mins.
20mins later, saw a ticket on my car.
Then I found some random sign said no parking

I'd get in the car and stay there. Then claim they did it while I was in the car.
The sign MUST be posted clearly in front of the spot with the city VNC crap there.
Private property is another story but I'd take it up with the business that owns the property.
