Default 255/50/17 on rears

Has anyone ran this set up in the rear? If so does handling get affected or no? My car kinda low in the rear so i cant fit the spoon diffuser without it scraping my driveway so I gotta get taller tires lol. running 245/40/17 all around currently. A picture would be nice if u got one. thx

probably not. things it'll affect are your gearing for your transmission and ultimately, your speedometer. i'm running a taller tire, but not that tall, 275/40/18.

Why don't you raise the suspension some? That's going to be a seriously tall tire. It will affect your trans and speedo. A 255/40/17 will be slightly taller than the 245/40/17.

Yah I'm running the same size as mostdope. U have to consider the difference in rolling diameter from front to back the factory fittment gives about .8mm larger in the rear and is pretty balanced the 225/45 17 front and 255/40 17 rear gives about 1.2 mm difference. Of course this will varry on rim width and tire design but not by much. The greater rolling diameter in the rear will tend to want to give a car less of a push over the smaller fronts. Keep this in mind. At the same speed the smaller gear spins at more revolutions.

Hey Bro, what would you recommend for the AP1 factoy rims??? I want to bring them out a lil with some spacers.....my car is lowered (adjustable) and fenders are rolled!!! Do you think 205/40/16 for the front and 225/45/16 on rear would work???
