Default 2.4 GHZ Panasonic Phones (no good)

2.4 GHZ Panasonic Phones -problem! I could never understand why my Internet cuts off and on all the time with my Linksys Wireless Network Adaptor until recently. It was my 2.4 Phone that caused the problem because they are both running on the same 2.4 GHZ. I wonder if all the network adaptors ever thought that this might be a problem. The 2.4GHZ phone has been here for more than 8 years now. Now I need to upgrade to the new 5.8GHZ phone.

I'm also using a linksys wireless router and it's been giving nothing but good service. Maybe you should change your phone channel like RevJunky mentioned. Mine is perfectly working fine and I have wireless adapters for all my computers. I'm also using a 2.4 ghz panasonic phone.

I have an Airport and a Sony Wireless. Changing the channel on the AP will help. Getting a 5GHz phone will too, but changing the channel is cheaper.

Most wireless routers let you change the channel. So either change the channel on the router or phone. If that doesn't work, get a new phone. And BC, since when have you ever used a land line?!

5.8Ghz is a waste of money. You're better off buying a 900Mhz.

I used to have a 900 one from uniden, and that thing worked wonders. I changed b/c my co-workers been raving that these new 2.4ghz (5 years ago) are the greatest thing. I think they stink. My uniden lasted 3 years before a new battery replacement with 14 day standby and these "modern tech" phones last only 1 year before I had to get a replacement.

Maybe I got a defective one.

The Panasonics don't change channels. At least mine didn't. Neither does my Sony. Both sit in the middle of the 2.4GHz spectrum, and interfere with Channel 6 on the wireless. Changing the wireless access point to a lower or higher channel would work best.
