1975 bmw r90 motorcycle
Hey guys,
Anyone know anything about these bikes? For maintenance or other work needed, would I be able to take it to like any motorcycle shop? Anything to watch out for?
Thanks in advance. heres a pic

I know a little,
There are some really active BMW forums and the like spread across the net,
Most modern shops will not be willing to work on these bikes.
Locally there are some shops that will,
For more info check out
BMWmoa.org
ADVrider.com
Airheads.org
Or just do a google for Airhead BMW or R90
Good luck

R90/6's are awesome bikes. That photo looks pretty clean too. Squish's links are good starts. I restored a 1973 R75/5 (see my multi-page resto blog at http://penforhire.wordpress.com ).
Ideally you want to be willing to do maintenance, or at least major disassembly, yourself. There are decent Haynes & Clymer manuals available. Otherwise I don't really recommend taking them to any old cycle dealership. Even my local BMW shop was not the right go-to for specialized airhead work (e.g. tranny repair).

I helped restore quite a few of these actually. Malcolm has a few even older ones around home and the store.
Malcolm Smith Motorsports would know if you got Malcolm himself perhaps involved. If he has the time. He's not hard to track down at the dealership.
