I posted this in the Wheels & Tires Forum as well, but I know that SoCal is the S2000 modding capital of the world, so i thought you guys might be able to give me some input.

What do you guys think about 18x8.5 +44 wheels on the rear with 255/40/18 tires? Do you think that you would need to go 255/35/18 tires? I know that the rear fenders would need to be rolled and run soem camber, but just wanted to see what you guys think.

hi ryan, i'm no expert but i would imagine you can get away with that offset and the 255/35 with fender rolling. my friend is running a 19x9 +45 i believe and after rolling his fender has no rubbing issues. good luck with whatever wheel choice you make. i know it will look really nice!

I have a 17x9 +45 in the rear, and with no mods to the rears. With 245's I rubbed on hard dips and cornering hard also made it rub. Now im running a 235 and don't rub at all still with no mods to the rears

Hope that helped.

with that offset, i would definetly go with the 255/35.

that's what im running in the back with 18x8.5 +50 offset. rolled fenders, lowered close to 2 inches. we had to be a little conservative( for my tastes ) before the alignment, but now with it( UK spec alignment ), i have a fair amount of clearance and am going to drop the rear a little more to even the rake a little bit.

I would definetly have some problems with a 255/40 though. there would be some rubbing at my height and on dips/hard cornering.

you might have some issues with that size/offset, even with rolling the fenders, if you want to lower your car a noticeable amount.

Well, I do want to lower it, but I will run the 255/35/18 on the rears. I will roll the fenders and I already have the UK alignment, so I should be able to get it pretty low. Thanks for the input. If anyone else has any, it's much appreciated!

if you already have the uk alignment then you have more room to play when fitting. you should be ok i would assume, but i'd be interested to know how low you can go with that offset/tire setup.
