Default 17" or 18" rims

Looking for opinions.....

When choosing a set of rims, which would what size (17" or 18") would you prefer and why.

I have an AP2, so it came with 17's.

If I changed rims, and kept them 17's, I could use the stock S02's, which I like.

If I go to 18's, I got to get something else.

Is there a better choice of STREET tires for the 17's then the 18's?

Is there a better choice of RACE tires for the 17's vs the 18's?

Which size is prefered by the folks who track their cars? Does gearing come in to consideration?

Inquiring minds want to know.....

TIA
Laird

You have more Slick options if you have 18s.

Tires are cheaper in 17s. Wheel weight is lighter in 17s as well.

You mean slick options, as in race slicks? or as in bling...

If Honda engineered the suspension and car for 17's, i am confident to stay with that

18's will probably make the ride a little harsher too, which is something i am not looking for.

As in race slicks, like a Dunlop Slick or Hoosier slick tire. Tires also become more expensive as you go up in size. A slick is not the same as a R-Compound.

As a side note, most track people choose 17" because tires are cheaper and the wheels are for the most part lighter.
