My detector has saved me many times. It only works if there's other traffic on the road ahead of you. When the radar hits them, you get some warning before it hits you.

If it's night with no other traffic, the detector doesn't do much good.

Whats with all these people on the board doing 100MPH+?

this is what's making our car's have a bad rap now

If I speed (that high at least), I for sure wouldn't talk about it online! Good luck

But we all know I wouldn't drive that fast
There are so many used S2000's out there that younger dudes are getting into them and learning to drive, the hard way.
Whatya gonna do?

most CHP are going to pace your car. and unless they have the radars in the cars on (sometimes they do) you will have very little warning before they signal you.

Radar detectors are useless in California since cops now have the authority to "estimate" the speed you are going and give you a ticket for however fast they think you were going.

Don't quote me on it but I heard in conversation somewhere.

Anyone care to expound on this?

They can give you a ticket under basic speed law based on estimation, but not for a specific speed. They would much prefer to get a radar on you or pace you.

who needs spell check when theres u guys who spend all that time fixing the errors?

as far as that radar detector deal, I heard the radar companies ALWAYS have some way to weasel outa paying the ticket. Has anyone actually tried this and had much luck? I had a passport 8500V I've gotten tickets having it, figured even trying was a waste of my time. Sometimes it helps me....sometimes... about 50% of the time I think to myself "I may have just saved myself a ticket" It's hard to quantify that kinda thing.

I have a surefire product for you, i save my arse so many time it's not even funny.

works better than v1, belltronic, even all the stuff that cost more than 500 dollar

the brand is "dont speed"
and interface is simple, just lift the foot that connected to the loud pedal

it works everytime

85 in 65 is one time, 100+ is little bit too much, no?
