Just across the street from the beach. It's not Italian,
exactly, but they do have several pasta dishes. I've
never been, but my folks said it was very good

Yeah, chairs and table might need to go in a bigger car
for the picnic...

I always think the 1-year is a great time to go back to the same location as your best early date. There are enough other reasons to visit nice restaurants. The nostalgia is more fun once in a while.

Oh yeah, PS...

For my last 1-year with a girl, I went back to the same place we'd taken a cute picture on one of our first dates. I took another one as similiar as possible and had both framed side-by-side. It was a cheap but great gift.

dinner + beach would be my choice. make her something! something meaningful and delicate. making something is always cheaper than buying it and imo, its cuter too.

Another idea...

If you think you *could* cook but never have for her, go through the effort of planning and cooking a nice meal sometime.

This doesn't work if you're like me and cook 5 days a week, but if it's something she knows you're not comfortable with, the effort will be appreciated.

Or, Orange County Mining Company (easier on the wallet).
Both good.

One LAST idea, but total cost will be ~$250 I guess.

Standard hotel in LA or Hollywood. They are a fully "adult" themed 4-star hotel with a few restaurants and bars within. Nothing raunchy at all, just very subtlely suggestive decor done nicely. For example, the wall between the bed and bathroom is all clear glass, as is the shower door.

If you can spend the night at the one in Hollywood, it's on the sunset strip and you can walk to about a dozen places for dinner. Or, they have a rooftop bar I think recalling also serves food.

Just in case your goal was to get some. My ex wasn't that sexual and she couldn't stop there.
