Here's how the time attack works...
It usually starts around 1:30-2:30 on Sunday.
You're assigned a starting position based on your best time from the morning "qualifying" sessions, then separated into groups of 5-6. The fastest goes out first, then about 10 sec later the next fastest and so on... (Theoretically, since the car in front of you is faster, and the car behind slower, you should never encounter traffic on your run)
You get one lap to warm up, then you'll get the green flag. You have two laps to make your best time, then you get the checkered flag. At that point, you get one "cool down" lap, then back into the pits.
The cars are grouped by engine size, FWD/RWD/AWD, and by modifications (tires, f/i etc.)
After the TA is finished, we tally up the scores and hand out the trophies. It's alot of fun, and there's a class for everyone.

You kids are so weak. I've left my house at 2:15 AM, drive to Pahrump, track all day (few cars, multiple hours), and drive back home by midnight .
There is a lot of respect for you, Sir...

Anyone else for 2 days at the track???
Sunday is also my 22nd birthday so we'll probably go out on Sunday also
fwiw plan extra time to get to Pharump and back from Pharump. There have been a lot of deathes on that road causing local highway patrol to patrol that area like crazy lately. Hauling ass to Pharump is a bad idea. Take your time and your radar detectors. The last thing you want on your trip to Vegas is a ticket, right BC?

If I go Sunday I'm not doing the whole day, I'll probably leave after the Time Attack! Time Attack! rocks, you get 2 totally open laps to put in a best time. Plus, Sunday is only $110 more.
