The Golden Gate Lotus Club has a track day at Thunderhill next Wednesday, September 10, 2008. Its $145 for GGLC members and $165 for non-members. Two (2) prior track days required. Bring your own lunch and water. This is a great group with a ton of track time for a really moderate price.. I'll be there.

Well, at least Todd is getting out there with NASA and getting a couple of track days under his belt. Do that and the gate will be open and you won't need to say dang.

I know... Not trying to make excuses but at least this year most track days either I have work (when it happens on weekends) or they have requirements. Timing is just bad I guess this year to get a track day under my belt. AutoX is fun but doesn't seem nearly as fun as an open track.

Pretty much on the honor system. You just need 2 or more track days with any organization in the recent (3-4 years) past at a bonifide track. Autocross doesn't count. There is an explaination box on the form when you sign up, where you can list the groups and tracks that you have participated with/on. The last thing you want to do is get out there and be totally overwhelmed and cause harm to yourself or others. GGLC does not have instructors, hence the requirement. If you have zilch experience the track workers will recognize it early on and you will get black flagged and perhaps not allowed back out. You and your car (and everyone else's) will survive, but your checkbook will be a little lighter.

That said, if you have the minimum experience and are interested, by all means come on out. Its a fun group, there will probably be 3-4 S2K's running besides you.
