Exclusive! I can't say for sure where this photo came from nor if it is even real... Photoshop is a powerful tool! BUT look at this photo carefully and noting the map.

I'm going to say that looks like a damn big extension on the track going off to the west from T9 to T10 introducing about 15 new corners and judging my my estimates (fingerprints all over my screen now) what looks like about 3 more miles of track. A 5 1/2 - 6 mile track with 30 corners? Sign me up!

Jed
I hope i didn't miss this in the convo ... but is there a time frame for when this addition will be completed??

Not to my knowledge. I'll keep you informed. :-)

In other news, I was reading an old magazine I have and keep since it's a great *driving* magazine (as distinct from *Car* magazine). I got it in the summer of '07 and it has an article about tracks across the US that are under development or proposed. One of the tracks (the only one in CA) is one proposed by John Condren (Altamont Speedway owner) was Riverside Motorsports Part in Castle, CA. http://tinyurl.com/ydem7pq Have you ever heard of it? Would have been a great local track. I checked again about a year and a half ago and it was still alive... dead now.

What a bummer.

The word is initially he wasnt' planning something so grand, so the city was onboard, but when he decided to make this huge park out of it, the city say no thanks.

He would have been better off building it up over time.

I had heard about that a handful of years ago... I followed it for a little while but last I heard there was so much local opposition to it that it was on life support.

Obviously, they pulled the plug.

I'm not a religous man ... but I'm really praying that the forecast of weeklong rain continues to start on the Dec 5th.

If it starts a day earlier I'll have to cancel out of driving Laguna Seca

For VROD04, JohnDoe2009, and I ... Thunderhill on Dec 11 might be a problem.

The 10-day forecast only goes up to Dec 8 right now and there is solid rain from the Dec 5-8 right now. Hopefully that stops by 10.

10 day forecast for willows, ca thru Dec 8

I've decided that I'm ready for the rain. I've driven it drizzle and that can be worse, but it's a driving experience I'm prepared for. Slow down, smooth, stay the line. It should be just fine.

Laughable to some ... but an accomplishment to me ... LoL

Yesterday @ Laguna was the first time I've been on track for a whole day and not dropped a single tire off track. It was also the first day I'd been on track w/o a set of sumitomo tires. Track ready tires make a world of difference (DuH!).
