Hope so Todd. Ayjay, I usually drive up in the morning, but you can usually leave at 5:30 and still get there at 7:00, even at 65 mph. But you are right about the gas.

Reno-Fernley on June 13-14th with T.E.A.M. Racing. I have gone there with them the past two years and plan to again this year. really easy going group and only $400 for TWO weekend days is a great deal.

Reno-Fernley is a 4.2 mile track as well.

If you sign up, tell them Jonathan Wright sent you there. It looks good that a guy from Idaho can get some Californians to go.

GoMarlins3, I'll be at Reno-Fernley with Bonni in June too. Ayjay, I am still on my stock rotors, using the Cobalt pads. No discernable wear, no microcracks. Thats 7 track days and 21,000 total miles in 26 months. All on the Cobalt GTs for track and stock pads for street. Its amazing what 400 pounds will do. I do have an extra set of rotors in my garage, just in case.

That "trifecta" weekend (Fri. Thunderhill, Sat & Sun. AutoX) looks extremely inviting.

As stated before, my participation @ Thunderhill will hinge on the severity of the paycuts related to state employee furloughs for both my fiance and I. The state and labor union reached a more palatatable tentative agreement over the weekend.

For the record, I'm for 1 day furloughs and layoffs over taxes (as long as the layoffs cut dead weight rather than lowest tenured). I could wax poetic about how they could fix state employment waste w/ no furloughs at all but that is just a drop in the bucket compared to all the other wasteful stuff our govt does. My solutions involve common sense rather than politcal posturing and special interest groups so I'm sure they'll be completely ignored.

Anyway, long story short ... I may be able to make thunderhill just yet.

Yes. I'm sure the 360 lbs difference plays into it but I'm really thinking it was the excessive friction needed for the pads I used last time. I'm really interested in seeing the difference in a more trackable pad.

If that doesn't work I may look at having some cooling ducts cut/fab'd but I'm resistant to this until I commit to leaving AutoX stock class.

Bonni says she is up to 15-16 signees for Thunderhill on April 3rd and more are arriving every day. I'm in the intermediate group, so anyone who wants to video my rear bumper when I pass them sign up for that group too .

Todd, is it possible to get rid of the 2008 stuff in this thread and put it all in a 2008 Track thread, and rename this one 2009 Sacramento Track Days? TIA.
