Todd I did *the same thing* at the June 6,7 days. I had to go home early on Sunday and drove 151 miles without using the brakes (not once... a personal record I hope never to beat).
Bummer... at least you finished you day happily.

All I know is that I was considering doing a final session at about 3pm in 106 degree heat but very luckily decided against it. That could've been ugly.

Your bake pads looked like mine after that Thunderhill day we did last December ... the difference w/ mine is that they were brand new STREET pads that I put in 2 days before going on the track. Lesson learned ... no street pads on the track.
My rotors were also grooved like that to but they had scorch splotches too.

When I use to track with my Camry, on times of low cash, I'd just use OEM pads and they worked perfectly. I think i read somewhere that toyota uses akibono pads. Worked same way for my cousin in his tC and a friend with an IS. Maybe Toyota>everyone else on brake pads
