Had a blast yesterday... 8 20-sessions and about 170 track miles. Hey that's only 85 cents a mile. No incidents, about 50 drivers total, including a recently restore Porsche 908 circa 1970, a Ford GT, lotsa Miatas, but only one other S2K.

For anyone with at least 2 prior track days, who can afford a mid-week day off, GGLC puts on a great, low key event for minimal $$$. What's unique is that, although they have novice, intermediate and advanced groups with differing passing rules, you sign up for either novice/intermediate or intermediate/advanced. So you get to go in either or both sessions. hence my 8 sessions. Their next event at Thunderhill is Tuesday, July 14th.

Anyone up for a weekday run? Anyone who has a done a 2-3 runs up there is fine registering as an intermediate. I'm strongly considering this. Last time I think I got 5-6 20 min runs...

Good luck getting 6 sessions with 4 run groups, unless the track stays hot during the lunch hour. More realistically, there is only 420 minutes available between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. If everything goes perfectly you will get maybe 5 sessions, unless they have more than one instructor-only sessions, then you will get less. That's a lot of money for less than 2 hours track time.

Better yet, sign up for July 8th at Thunderhill and get 6-7 sessions for only $160. Or wait until July 14th with the Lotus Club and get even more track time for $165.

I view HOD as a great organization if you are a millionaire. As for NASA, I went once and never again.

Just my .02...

I'm afraid my track day attendance is shut down until after I'm married. WhyTF are weddings so expensive???
