Default Replacing Resonator on loud exhaust.....

hey guys. i just put on Megan Drift Spec 1 Racing exhaust on MY01 AP1. It's kind of loud w/o the silencer. Do you guys think by changing the resonator, it'll quiet down the exhaust w/o the silencer. I was thinkin about it because i like the exhaust and the angle. Please send me some suggestion or which resonator I could use. Thanks, Bruce_S2K.

No it won't because of the style of muffler you have.

You can try to add a premuffler and it will quiet it down but I'm not sure by how much. the pre muffler is different than a resonator mainly because it basically is another muffler. depending on clearance you might be able to add a premuffler and keep your resonator. maybe go w/ a 2.5" magnaflow muffler and use it as a premuffler.

I have 2 resonators on my mango and it's just as loud as Mike's... Just not as raspy.

Maybe you should just save the $$$ and ride with ur silencers in. I've heard of people painting them to make them less noticeable when in place. Although I've been curious as to the effect repeated exposure hot metal and exhaust gasses would have on the paint. Sounds like a science experiment!

The silencers would probably choke off the minimal hp gain you got from your exahust but I would imagine that additional resonators would probably have the same effect anyway.
