Time will tell if these are actual "street tires"...........hate to see it go in the direction Toyo did with the R1R, as they wore out like a true race tire, but then again, I've heard they aren't using the same soft compound any more like they had for their early batch.
Ditto on the Falkens, outdated is the correct word. SOB's wore out fast on the rearend of the S!

man, i wish they start selling the RE-11 here. also, other notables i didnt see in this thread are the Advan Neova AD08 which debuted at Sema as well as the Hankook R-S3 which look promising as well. if i remember correctly, the Hankook R-S3 was over 3 seconds faster than the old R-S2 tire according to some tests Hankook conducted. my buddy set the old super lap battle overall street record on Hanook R-S2 tires during last years (2007) super lap battle finals at buttonwillow so the R-S2's cant be that bad. as for the Falkens, im sure they have something in the works as the rt615 is due for a sucessor about now, im guessing it will debut at Sema 2009. also, if im not mistaken both Falken and Dunlop are subsidiaries of Sumitomo and i remember hearing that both the RT615 and the Z1 star specs share the same compound.
*edit* also forgot about the Kumho XS tire, anybody have anything on these? i remember hearing about how the RE01R was the benchmark in the development in the XS tire.

Great to hear that Yoko and Hankook are updating their lineup, as the "max performance" street tire wars keep getting more insane to how they can grip like a race tire, but I think there will be a time when they will compromise the "street tire" creds by just labeling a race tire as a street tire.
NT05 looks like a full on race tire Hope they'll bring some love for us low horsepower guys with 15" and 16" sizes.

I think the Advan's will be over priced once again but there is no doubt that it will be a great addition...but will track junkies buy them on their limited budget? As is right now you don't see very many on track...You'll see more AO48's on Lotus' (stock tire on the Exige) than the Neovas all together.
Hankooks have always been good and cheap...The new R-S3 will definitely be a contender! I just wish they'd update their R-Compound line and make a 6/32 tire with an updated tread pattern...

I have the R-S2s on the R.... and the first time with them on right after installation... drifted on the on ramp on 180.... not cool ok!!!!... FF drifting.. it wasn't even intentional... caught the car in time and just took off....they are good tires, but they do squeal a little too much... hopefully the R-S3s are better

Any info if the 'kook z214 vs. NTO1? I know the 'kook looks much more like a race tire, but those nittos are doing extremely well.
Another thought would be to play with the compounds that 'kook has to offer. Also not to mention the R6, as hoosier is always in the game!
