Post Moving to Rancho Cordova...

Hello all,

I am planning on moving to the Rancho Cordova area this summer for a new job with my company.

Coming up to visit in a few weeks to scope out possible areas and places to live.
I have been reading around online and have not come up with much so I figure I would poll the s2k community

I am looking for an apartment in or not too far from Rancho Cordova with low crime, garage, rent around or under $900 a month.
Bonus would be nice shopping in the area with an upscale mall nearby.

Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions,

Jerry

Check out Folsom. It's probably your best bet. They have an outlet mall, lake and lots of trails if you're into outdoor activities.

Rancho has high crime and no malls. Plus your car will prob get broken into.

Folsom is more expensive but you get what you pay for. Just like anything in life.

Folsom would def be your best bet! Unless you are willing to commute 20 min in that case also check out granite bay or roseville!
If you rather stick to commuting 10 min then yes Folsom

Good info guys... I have heard good things about Folsom!
Rentals definitely seem to be more expensive there.

What are the trendy areas with newer construction? Folsom?
I do not mind driving a little farther to get a newer place in a good area.

The drive isn't the thing that's gonna kill you, it's the sitting in traffic that might.

Most of the places that have an enclosed garage are the newer places and unfortunately cost more.

Maybe try renting a house?

I'd say Roseville area is probably the most 'trendy' of the areas. But like mentioned before, it will cost more. Also there isn't any freeway from the Roseville area to Rancho'. You there's a few major roads but they all tend to back-up pretty good during the morning/evening rush.

Folsom has had a lot if recent growth and isn't too shabby either.

If your budget is tight, you may want to look at the surrounding towns.

BTW: Welcome to the area!

For sure! Roseville looks like its got a lot of shopping and newer stores with stuff to do on the weekends.

I was checking out apartments up in that area.
They seem reasonable and nice compared to what is in Folsom and RanchoC for that price.
