Default Motor Swap...

Ok guys... you all know about my rookie mistake... well now it's time to fix it!

I went out and bought a long blong, as well as an oem clutch kit. I've swapped type r's and gsr's but never the s2000. Have any of you ever done it... and also what's the best way to do it in your opinion?

a) is it easier to jack the car up pretty tall and lower the motor through the bottom of the car?

b) start the pain in the ass job of undoing the transmission and lifiting the motor out through the top?

c) whatever suggestion you have?

I would like to pull the motor out this weekend and if I could get help it would be highly appreciated. I don't plan on putting the new one in yet because the clutch hasn't come in. Just one step at a time. I know that I'm a bit out of the way but I would glady cover food and drinks and whatever else you need.

Please give me as much feedback as possible. Thanks guys.

-Bustin.

Dang Bustin, I never swap an s2k motor before and have done many b-series swaps but I did change out my clutch a while back. I think the easiest way is to take the tranny off then pull the engine from the top. If you have the luxury of a shop engine lift then taking the motor out from the bottom would be easier. Good luck man, I think everyone here is busy this weekend because of ButtonWillow.

Bustin, I have the OEM Honda Shop Manuel. I'll Let you use it AND, I'm more than willing to help you pull the motor! Sounds like fun to me I've never done a Honda, just American V8s. This weekends bad though I'm at BW.

Per the shop manuel....The motor is pulled from the top (I think), tranny and all. That should make it much easier. Your gonna need a cherry picker. I think we could pull it in 3-4 hours though. I burn you a PDF version and give it to you at the meet.

I'm gonna be looking to do the same thing in a year or so. There may be a stroker kit and a race clutch in store for me or at least thats what I want

Yep out the top but you got to disconnect the tranny first.

PM me your email address. I have a PDF 00-03 manual but its 28.1 MB. I also have an 00-07 OEM shop manual, but I like to keep that with me especially when I'm at the track. It comes in pretty handy.
