No FI, huh? I might be able to change your mind...
Don't get me wrong - I think it'd be awesome. However, the amount of $ in takes to do this legally in CA outweighs the costs associated in doing ANYTHING else I'd want to do with the car. I'd be down to go for a ride in a FI S2k if you've got one on standby one day to turn me over to the dark side. Haha.

Not to scare you Falcon, but do keep in mind that every item for an S is around the 1k mark. As you already know, the S is excellent out of the box, just grab some proper street rubber for it.

Yeah, I've noticed that for the most part. It's a go big or go home scenario with this car and what you can put into it. No big deal though, not that I'm a baller or anything, it's just going to be a slower project than I'm used to.

IMO the best mods for some one on a budget would be like this...

17x9 or 17x9.5 (if you can find them for a good price) & 255/40/17 tires on all 4 corners.
Good lowering springs like Swift.
70mm single exhaust (and 70mm test pipe for events).
K&N FIPK intake, or comparable intake.

That is pretty much all you ever need. Once you want to go faster, save your money for some good coilovers and a high mount wing. That is a sub 2:00min BW car which is impressive by anyones standard.

Also, keep in mind when searching for an s2000, you're buying an s2000, not a del sol. you get what you pay for. if you buy an s2k under 10000, you better be prepared to deal with the flaws.
