Default Hello CV-crew

Cut and pasted from main board Intro thread:

I was a board member on here - about 2 years ago (still didn't own an S2k back then either). Just wanted to say 'hi' and get my first question out in the open.

I'm from Central CA - Fresno, more specifically - and am going to be looking to finally get in the seat of of one of these beautiful cars. I've been following the S2000 since inception and have been close to buying one a couple of times but things always fell through for one reason or another.

I'll soon be in attendance at the CVS2K meets via the recommendation of a fellow S2ki & Fresno-forum board member Rob, to get some user input and first hand knowledge.

Over the next three months I am trying to find someone who frequents CA car auctions that would be willing to lend a helping hand to an aspiring S2000 owner in navigating the acquisition process of a car purchased at auction. I'm that guy who wants the perfect deal (low mileage, clean title, for under $10k). I work in a valuable industry for any homeowner and would be willing to trade services in the process if both needs can be met.

Other than that, just keeping tabs on one of my favorite cars on the road to date.

Thanks!

-Brian

Welcome Brian

Come out to the meets and meet the crew and check out the s2ks. We got everything from stock, to mild, to wild here in the CV. We also have new members / cars popping up all the time!

Keep you eye on the members marketplace. There is even a section specifically for car for sale. There are a lot of great cars there and the great thing about them....you'll know the car's history since it's a s2ki members car.

I'm not sure if any of our members are that involved in the auction scene....Hopefully someone will chime in.

I'll be at the SCCA autocross this coming Saturday....hopefully I'll see you there! Although... until you get into an s2k your not gonna have as much fun as I will

That would be perfect....but I'm almost positive it would be closer to the $16K range putting it about $6k over my budget. Thanks for the heads up though. If I manage to stumble on a bag of cash or something your friend will be the first to know.

It'll be hard to find one with low miles for that price, but these motors are pretty darn good, even though there has been a few guys locally blowing them up. I wouldn't be to hesitant on grabbing one with near 100k or so and tracking it. Just don't mod the motor crazy IMO, stock is king, look at rob, he runs a damm stock header

Apparently you can run these motors for quite some time with no oil in them

Even track use is not a problem given that the guy tracking it has taken car of it (which is generally the case...anyone on track knows how to take care of an engine...at least I would think so).

You'd be lucky to find a 7-10 year old are with 70K miles. That is about 10K or less a year which is average.
