Default Clutch...finally finish!

Well finally finish putting my ACT clutch and flywheel in today. This will probably be the last time I do a clutch job. 10 plus hrs of work just to get the tranny off, but I ran to Harbor Freight twice. One of the bolts that hold the driveshaft on was strip from previous owner So I had to go buy a grinder to cut it off. When I got all the bolts off the tranny, it would not come off. I tried for hrs, then finally gave up. The next day, I found out that I forgot to take the release fork out. Well, I done many clutch jobs in my lsvtec eg awhile back and I never had to take the release fork out to take off the tranny. Looks like the S is different form B-series tranny. Well, took the fork off and finally got the tranny off. Putting it back was cake, took about 6 hrs all by myself. Called Honda and they wanted 13 hundred to do the clutch job.
Here are some pix.

the old, original clutch, flywheel, pressure plate...ouch!!!

New ACT clutch kit and flywheel

The pressure plate is yellow, it matches my S. It drives like a champ.

Yeah, I have a back up set up (HTG's) in my shed for when I need it and I am not looking forward to doing the job. I will probably pay some else to do it since the SC is on the engine as well.

Nice work!

Good job, now you have no excuse to not make it to Famoso

BTW what setup did you go with? heavy duty racing or street clutch? I've driven a heavy duty clutch with an OEM honda disc and it felt smoother yet firmer than stock, loved it.

Damn! Yangs gonna be FAST now!!! What's the weight on the flywheel?

The old clutch looks like toast......no wonder you almost didn't make it home...you should have waited for us so we could have made sure you got home safely esp that late.

The clutch feels pretty good, the engine revs a lot faster. This is a 8.3lbs flywheel. Don't know if it makes the car any faster, I haven't test it out yet, still breaking it in. I just got the cars wheel alignment done, it was pulling to the right after the clutch job.
