Me too - I was actually looking at used mountain bikes on craigslist yesterday with the some friends who bike.

They had some decent looking Stumpjumper, Rockhopper, and Trek bikes on there yesterday. But I don't know what to really look for when buying a used mountain bike. I figure a straight frame that fits you well is the most important. But can you really eyeball a frame and be sure that it is in good shape or do you need to take to a bike shop to get it checked out before buying?

There were some $1000-2000 new bikes on craigslist that were selling used for $500-800 - worth it for a deal like that or better to get a new $500-1000 bike?

Any of these good deals?

Anyone got any tips?

I'm actually in the market for my 3rd bike. My previous two bikes were 04 Suzuki GsxR 600 and a 03 honda cbr 600RR. I think im going to purchase a honda CBR 1000RR Repsol edition (the tri color -blk, org & wht one) .

Are you selling a bike or something?
