Are you fellers supporting Laguna Seca

I have a couple good connections at Nasa Pro Racing.
I also taught at a Miata School at Thunderhill this weekend, when I talked with the people putting it on, said they might be interested in hosting a s2k school if we could get a number of people.
I will e-mail her and ask the costs for getting the track for a day.
Weekdays would be way cheaper if possible.

While sears may be better suited to the s2000, it is also less forgiving than laguna seca for people with little experience. Its got walls and hills and other things to run into, where laguna has at least some runoff room for most corners. The only issues at laguna that i see is the corkscrew (which happens to be my favorite corner at LS), since the back end can get a little light at the top of the hill, but as long as you dont over-drive it and aim at the proper tree, you'll be fine.

True, thunderhill is more forgiving. However, from what I remember the surrounding land was rather rutted. So you trade sheetmetal damage for suspension damage.
Whatever.. I like all 3 tracks and am definatly for S2kdays 2002 being in the bay area.

well...there's oval tracks and there's dirt!!!!!ain't nothin'boring about dirt tracks...i used to run at the old baylands 1/2 mile and did some night racing at calistoga...lots of fun in an open wheel sprint..i can't imagine what it would be like in a s2k!..as for the sears-laguna question, i've run both in a variety of cars[actually ran the "old" shortened laguna as well] and really prefer laguna seca....it's a track that let's you go quite fast and then demands mucho finesse to get thru those "slow" corners...it's also in much better shape and does allow for small mistakes...if you can meet it's demands you are then rewarded by a trip down the corkscrew; quite a unique experience in itself....besides,you've got the whole monterey peninsula at your feet...easily the most fantastic top-down automotive playground extant[what's all this "dragon"crap about anyway..]....just my 200,000,000 yen.....
