Hey All!
Just wondering if the consensus in this area is to support S2Kdays '02 at Laguna Seca. There are quite a few cars here, and I think that we could throw one heck of an event.

no - am supporting sears point (the track is better suited to the S2K in my opinion).

I'd go to either track. I'm just generally supporting an event like this in our area. I know we'd have a great turnout. I'm in wherever it is, and with respect to timing perhaps a spring '02 would be good and let's make it a national event!

Chris,
Can you let those of us who haven't been to sear's pt know why it is better?
Thanks,
Don

Malachi, I'm with you on that one!

Sears Point is a tighter, more technical track where handling plays more of an importance than raw HP. Laguna Seca on the otherhand is like a 4 lane freeway with high speed straights intermixed with 90 degree turns and of course the corkscrew... better suited to Torquey cars than our high rev'n Hondas.

IMHO, Sears Point is just plain funner with the S2000.

Loki said it perfectly.
Laguna has long straights and slow corners - the perfect track for a high torque, high HP car (viper etc).
Sears Point has a lot of more technical medium to high speed corners and is well suited to a car like the S2K. If you want to compare Sears Point to a more famous track it would probably be Lime Rock.

Forget about all that...lets have it at Altamont. Cheaper accomodations in Bee-yoo-tee-full Tracy and Livermore, challenge of a tight 1/2 mile oval and plenty of rubbin' and bangin'....who's afraid to use a little bumper to make a point? And talk about history....anyone remember that famous Rolling Stones concert in '69??
