I drove out of Yose a couple of weeks ago via the southern exit (highway 41) and was sooooo glad i didn't have the S. The road is all ground up down to dirt and gravel for repaving. They are putting in curbs too. 120 was ok but just don't take 41 in or out.

Damn, Brendan. Enjoy! I'm actually yet to take a trip out there too (in either my S or the E30 (everytime I've gone it's been with friends or in rentals)..honestly I think either would be amazing fun), and Yosemite is an amazing place regardless.

Was considering going for the long weekend but ended up doing Sonoma instead as I mentioned to you. Skaggs (thanks to s2ki for inspring me to do this, sorry I couldn't join you guys) was ridiculously amazing..as was coleman valley road and pretty much all the little mountain roads up there!

I feel quite geeky taking countless pictures of my car whenever I'm on a roadtrip, but gotta do it! Post some from your drive!

Thanks, Shehan! Yeah this was pretty spur of the moment and I'm really busy this month but I'm glad I decided to say screw it and go. It sounds like it will be a lot of fun, so didn't want to have to wait until next year. If anything I'm thinking this trip will make me want to return next year too.

I took a look at Coleman Valley Road on Google maps after reading your post. Looks nice! And really close to me too. I don't think I've been on that particular road, but now I'm going to have to go check it out!

Do not leave food in your car!! My friend got fined for doing so and my other friend''s car was damaged by a bear..the door was all beat up. Have fun!

Thanks! Man, that is a scary thought picturing that happening to my car. I think I'm going to vacuum it before leaving just to be sure there aren't even any lingering crumbs that I'm not aware of.

Make note to not go if a lady is present and is on her period because it attracts bears. Other then that enjoy your trip to yosemite, it's a fun drive.
