Default Yosemite in the S

I'm taking a trip to Yosemite and was thinking about driving the S. I just got the car and am still in anal mode with worrying about door dings and break-ins and stuff. OK, try not to laugh at me. I'm just wondering if anyone who has been there can advise me if it's safe to park the S there overnight and what not. We'll be hiking Half Dome. I've never been there so I'm not sure what to expect.

I'll try not to leave any food in the car so a bear doesn't slash my top.

I personally wouldn't worry that much about theft there. It's a little outside their usual spots.

i'd be much more worried about someone stealing my car or breaking into it in the bay area versus yosemite. just take everything out of the car's cabin like usual...no ipod sitting in the seat, etc.

Thanks for the input folks! I'll just take the S and enjoy a nice road trip.

Make sure you don't leave food in it because the bears will steal it.
As far as parking it might take a bit but you'll eventually find a safe spot not under a sappy tree or next to door dinging fools. Have fun and

Nice!! I'm hoping to get a good pic with the car and some good scenery in the background.

The food or the car?

Oh man I did Yosemite in the S two years ago and I can't wait to do it again. I am still kicking myself for not making time this year.

It is one of the only occasions I will remove the hardtop for.

The scenery during the day with the sheer granite cliffs, I couldn't think of a better place to enjoy a convertible, truly priceless.

I think my GF fell in love with me a second time while cruising through yosemite canyon at night top down with usher quietly playing on the stereo, the granite cliffs glowing in the moon light and stars shining bright :-p

Also there are tunnels to drive through, my favorite excuse for a 9000rpm salute!

Aside from all of that, everyone compliments you when you are cruising an s2000 around yosemite. I guess it is a much appreciated break from the constant minivan/suv/motorhome's that everyone is stuck looking at for the most part.

Those are my feelings on driving an s2k in yosemite...
