How can you include insurance in that equation? You still pay the same amount. Did you put a value to the time you lose biking?
then did the same at 45mpg (what my Suzuki got), that leaves around $600 per year difference in what gas would cost between the two vehicles just for my commute to work and back. Insurance would be less than that on something older, since I wouldn't buy a new bike.
So, accounting for bad weather days I would just about break even... plus, I'd be saving money elsewhere because I know I'd end up riding a lot more in the summer months for short little things like going to Sarah's or TJ's for the evening to chill.
Not to mention if I sell my prelude I'll no longer have the $600/yr in insurance for that one
it's all sounding very tempting... but, partly wishful thinking... so we'll see
//edit, I just re-read your question and realize what you meant... so, after my lengthy answer... "I meant it includes an assumed insurance increase of the bike, my S probably wouldn't be affected at all since I would still keep full coverage on it. And losing insurance for my prelude would also help"
hope I made sense, haha

yeah
my commute is too far to do in the morning by bicycle (save for people like merrick). I considered doing that but it would take too long with all the intersections, streets, and areas I would have to cross

Well @ least you don't have to drive as much as me. Even though I get compensated....the compensation does not equate to $4.XX/gal of gas. sucks....but what can I do? No way can I ride a bike since I carry two man bags and laptop w/ me at all times.
