Default Xm radio

don't know if previious years had that option. my radio is xm ready i just need to activate and put the antenna on. But that is what is holding me back i don't want screw anything on car or glue. the antenna is a little black box size of a pack of cigarettes. dealer options show installed on the trunk.
has anyone installed and satallite radio?

it will cost you $400+ just for parts for the OEM xm, it's a complete anal rape. you can get a better HU + sat gear of your choice for less

New Alpine Head unit: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1099388650551

$199.99
Modifry Dash control interface: $90
XM controller for Alpine: $90

$199 + $90 + $90 = better for less.

That way it will be easier to hook up an amp and/or iPod if you want.

I think you can put the antenna for the aftermarket solution at the bottom of the windshield. And I think it's smaller too.

Check in the Electronics forum.

You know that the MY04+ radio has almost no XM functionality built in. The only thing it has is the ability to talk to the OEM XM tuner which is connected to the OEM antenna. You can't use just any tuner box or any antenna. You have to buy the OEM equipment which is insanely expensive for what it does.(i.e. a standard XM tuner and antenna is $100, versus $400 for the OEM package).

If you get an aftermarket deck, you can get Sirius instead if you want Stern.

I have to say go Sirius, but everyone has their own opinions on the matter. My Sirius antenna is magnetic, so no glue, but it is a pain in the a** to detail around.
