I need help in installing an Xbrace which is on it's way to me. I am in Mill Valley. Does anyone know of a good mechanic that can help me install, or if you live close to me and can help me I will pay for your time. Thanks Avi

I couldn't imagine paying someone to install.
Do you have a jack? Hell you can even use the one that came with the car. You just remove 4 bolts and them put the x-brace in with the 4 allen bolts that it comes with.
It couldn't be any simpler.

I'd recommend getting some jack stands too if you decide to do it yourself.
Personally I'd never get under the car with only the car's jack in place... you'll be looking at a world of hurt/death if something happens. Plus the included jack is only designed to pop up one corner of the car at a time, not the whole front end. Either pay someone to do it or buy the neccesary equipment to do it safely.
It's fun to work on your own car, try it! Taking out the tranny and engine in my old mustang fastback was a hoot years ago... too bad I don't have the space to things like that now-a-days.

i second the advice to not trust the honda jack with your life. sequence that is advised is: jack up the corner with the honda jack; stick a floor jack under the center jack point; jack it onto the jack stands. make sure you use wheel chocks.
i agree that paying someone to do the install seems crazy, but i have to admit that if i can't find somewhere that i can do the work i'll have little choice myself (one of the downsides of living *in* the city). it's why i love the tech day idea.

I'll be moving to a new house in a few weeks, and it has a 3 car garage and fairly large driveway, we could probably work on 3 or 4 cars at once on it. So let me get settled and then we'll schedule a barbecue and tech day.
