Default WTF FIXIT TICKETS?

I got in the mail today, a warning notice from DPT for the correctable offenses on my prelude. the fees go up to 490$ on the printout, which actually isn't bad since its from 4/18/08 but I look and it says this

9/01/08 TABS 120$
8/25/08 NO PLATES 160$
4/18/08 NO PLATES 210$

they fined me twice for the same offense, can they do that? It's still correctable if im not mistaken so i'll be parking it in my garage and having a peace officer come out to take a look.

But here's the kicker, I logged on the internet to see if it was a mistake (maybe the NOPLATES would be one offense) and I find, 915$ total in fines instead. I was penalized like 5 times for each offense (no tabs and no plates) so here I am about to scrap my prelude for parts instead if it doesn't go through.

AND BEFORE ANYONE POINTS THE FINGER, HERE'S THE SITUATION THAT WENT DOWN.
-bought the car in early 08'
-came with no front plate
-turbo'd SC61 H23VTEC in a 97' lude. (haha smog, yeah right.)
-registration wouldn't go through and no hot smog available since it failed once and no one would touch it.
-swapped it late 08' in sept-oct time
-got it home and its been sitting street parked ever since

so now I have no front plate, and to top it all off I can't get my car up to date because of the tickets. So how do I correct the offense if I can't get the tags/plates for it? S2ki help me out yO. Anyone know anyone that could make a new license plate for me?

lol na its not that serious, i sold the H23VTEC + turbo setup for the car's worth already. just trying to get it up to date, sell it off to some 16y/o kid for like 4000$ and make a 4000$ profit. i know, im going to hell in a hand basket but oh well

believe me, my s2k's been getting a lot of money thrown at it
tubular mani, ken's rollbar/harness setup, hardtop, paint lined up for spring break to fix the rear bumper.. and she doesn't have the decency to pull up the front 2 wheels off the ground under WOT. oh did i mention volks soon?!?! haha i gotta pick up more side jobs from the prelude members to build up a nice nest egg for the summer plans.

I see a trip to the DMV coming soon. The official term for not being allowed to be ticketed twice for the same infraction is "double jeopardy" That knocks the whole cost down a lot if you have been fined 5 times for each offense. What is no tabs?

thats what i was thinking, but does it really qualify as double jeopardy? would expired registration be counted as a single violation or would different dates and times count as multiple offenses? hope you're right so i can avoid hefty fines.

tabs are the little sticker on the license plate to show your registration is current. the "2009" or "2010" rectangular stickers.

You aren't being cited 5 times for the same violation. You are being cited 5 different times for committing the same violation. You can't park a vehicle on public streets without valid registration. You obviously didn't learn from the first citation. Not sure who you think the finger should be pointed at, if not at you.
