I guess you are feeling the pain at the pump with your Evo right?

...I'm planning on going green....with the Prius soon.

I don't think it's worth getting a hybrid. Statistics showed that you have to drive the Prius 8 years to recover the extra money you paid for it, vs a regular car in its class... something like that.

It sucks paying $3.80 for every 8 miles that I drive for. -.-"

Do you think gas is going to get cheaper over the years? Not likely, so the Prius will likely pay for itself sooner then later. Also, think about how much extra time you spend at the pump and how inconvenient it is to always stop for gas, and let's not forget that not everything is about economics.

When buying the Prius, I really am no thinking of the "break even point" rather that it gets me good mpg and good for the environment. Gotta do my share and be green.

But Vu's right, less time at the pump and spending less at the pump pays off for me.

I drove from SJ to Fresno to LA and then to Palm Springs and only spent $29.00 on gas (all under one tank and still had a gallon or two to burn). Tell me if this does not convince you buy a Prius. Not trying to persuade you but I was quite surprised how powerful and comfortable the Prius is.

I won't bet anyone, but I'm sure gas will reach $4/gal by next summer. This is given and the fact that gas is almost $100 a barrel.

being a current mr2 turbo owner, my only piece of advice is: i hope youve allocated a hefty amount of money towards maintenance. things break on a weekly basis. plus parts are kind of hard to come by if you need it immediately.

im with joey on this one. EG/EK + k20 = one helluva fun DD.

Hm. I'm getting a DD because I don't want to have to do any maintenance. Is it that bad? I just need it to last 2 years or so before I get another S.
