WTF is up with my car? 2006 and when I try to start, it clicks and the lights start dimming. I had a friend jumpstart the car, but it won't turn over.

try using another car battery. make sure that the other car you're jumping from has a bigger battery.

If the bigger battery does not dim lights when attempting to start your starter is next place to look.

You can try a rolling start setup. Get going 5-6mph and drop the clutch in 1st with the key in 'on' and the car should jump to life.

Likely, if it's the original battery, it's dead. They die regularly at their design time, which original is good for 5 years.

I'm totally sorry for not replying to this question. Yes, u were all correct! My battery was dead and my friend didn't charge my car long enough. The next day my father charged my car for almost 10 mins and it started up nicely. I think I'm rather due for a new battery, but since then it's been fine.
