Make sure everyone who is going knows the "Rules" of handling a gun.
A mistake a lot of newbies do is treat the pistol as a "TOY." I've heard stories where people get a jam and turn around or point the gun up and it goes off. What we don't need is an accident.
This is exactly why I don't go to target masters. No offense but the place is seriously ghetto. There's a reason why they have some 'anti-gang' rules(i.e. you can't shoot at the head of a target). I went there a couple of times and never felt comfortable there. The clientel are wacky and I've never had the feeling of professionalism or saftey first from the people that worked there. I've had MUCH better experiences at other ranges in the bay area.

I've been shooting since I was probably 10 and to me safety is first. Targetmasters has never impressed me with their safety.

for those who havent handled a firearm, the rangemasters will walk you through it step by step until you are comforatble. i dont know why you guys say its ghetto or anything. maby it was bad before but now targetmasters is really strict on their policy. Anyways i was thinking of setting up a date for next weekend. Or would that be a bad day for someone who really wants to go. let me know thanks

Are double/triple taps allowed?

In San Diego, a majority of the ranges there allow active duty/reservist/veterans to practice. This is how I was taught, I'm no "gangsta"

savs2k, do you mind inquiring about this?

Target Masters in Milpitas is a nice range. I usually do my shooting there.

I don't think they have the XD-45, at least not when I was last there, otherwise they have a good selection of rental guns. You also can't rent a gun if you are by yourself. You have to have a buddy.
ive been there a few times..we can go during happy hour..lol but then again everyone will be working
