who here is runnning AEM v2 ?
Need your opinion guys. I am thinking about getting aem v2 for MY04. I know that unless it's completely submergered, no worries, but once in a while, you hear about someone who ran over a puddle, and hydrolocked the engine.
I intend to drive it everyday. How's your experience? No hydrolock worries? How do you like the intake?
Thanks~~

I have lived in California 23 years of my life and there is no way this state gets enough rain to even remotely worry about hydrolock issues with the AEM. I had the version one and lived in Hawaii (where it rains every other day).
There I would worry about running the CAI but not here.
I have been here since May of 2004 and it has rained twice. Not even enough to worry about hydrolock issues.

Here is a picture of all the water I drained out of my intake last year. Almost hydrolocked my motor.

the big problem is not puddles but leaving your car outside. the rain gutters drain water down into the intake and the V2 faces up which makes is VERY bad in terms of filling up with water.
The usual hydrolock happens when you drive through a puddle and that is VERY difficult to have happen, but the intakes WILL fill up with water if you leave the car outside long enough.
The solution is to buy an intake heat shield and put it over the filter like an umbrella

So leaving the car outside while raining will cause that, huh?

I still wouldn't worry too much. The key is not to leave your car parked outside in the rain.

That was the mistake I made. I left it out overnight during a rain storm.
