Where to stay in San Francisco?

Where to stay in San Francisco?
On my way to or from Sears Point 11/7, I want to spend 2-3 days in San Francisco. Anyone have any suggestions about a place to stay that's "reasonable" (recognizing that reasonable in San Francisco means something entirely different than most places). Also, any comments about must-sees in the area. For example, there's a large car museum somewhere in East Bay (Hayward or thereabouts), right?

Stay at the "W" hotel. It is very different. The lobby of the hotel is like a night club, I am not kidding, all dark....... It costs about $250 a night. sometimes you can get it for $200....... There is a restaurant called "XYZ", very nice food. Across the street, there is another restaurant called "Thirsty Bear", Spanish food, nice place nice food (Appetizers).

Blackhawk Museum
I've been there, it's pretty cool (my friends wedding was there )
Most of the cars are in the 1900-1950s era, including some steam engine cars

you want a cheap and clean place, stay at the Cow Hollow motor in on Lombard, about $80 a night, it's in a decent area, walking distance to Chestnut and the Marina district. This is where my friends and I choose to crash if we are going out on a hard night of drinking in SF. they also have free parking!
Otherwise if you are willing to spend the money, stay at the W.

More expensive:
- Triton (very cool),
- Rex (very literary),
- Clift (very LA).
Less expensive:
- Metro (Haight and Divisidero),
- Stanyan Park (near park).
Musts:
- eat a real SF burrito (suggest Cancun at Mission @ 19th or La Taqueria on Mission @ 23rd),
- take a back roads drive in Marin up to Pt. Reyes,
- go to the Sutro Baths ruins and The Presidio,
- take the cable car to North Beach and have an espresso at Cafe Trieste.
