Default Where to get S2000 checked out before purchase?

I'm about to buy an S2000 soon but want to have it checked out by a reputable dealership or shop. I am most concerned with the engine and body but other chassis components as well. My worst fear is if the car has been involved in a previous accident and was repainted or something.

So if anyone knows of a good place that is skilled in checking for bodywork and a full engine/chassis inspection, please let me know!!

Preferably inbetween San Francisco and San Jose. (Was thinking of bringing it to Honda/Acura of Campbell but not sure.) Thanks!!

i'm inclined to belive that now that you mention it... there coulda been undocumented repairs... and false positives kinda records... like how my vandalism claim counts as 1 incident... even thought there was no frame damageor any bad crap like that

Carfax is a helpful source but not 100% reliable. One of my RX7's in the past had a clean title but when I removed the bumper, I found some frame damage. I gave up on the car and parted it all out.

vtecnique- YOU ARE THE MAN!! Thanks a bunch. I will give a call to a few of those places and try to schedule something.

Acura Honda Connection - Great place

Just look it up they're in San Jose.

They do an A+ inspection for used cars. And they get you in even if they're busy cause they know you need it done that morning or what not.

i think ive used carfax maybe 3 times now, each different cars ive bought in the past (including my s2k as one of them). When I first used carfax, I thought it was the best thing in the world.

I had purchased an accord relying on carfax, later realizing that my accord was definitely in an accident due to the obvious repainting job when compared to a same colored accord, including frame damage beneath bumper. I am also inclined to believe my s2k has been in a prior accident (due to frame damages behind bumper, repainted parts of the car, etc.) but carfax says it hasnt. Dont rely on carfax imo.

Thanks, I REALLY wish I could take it to Acura Honda Connection but the hours clash with the seller's work schedule.

The dealerships are also charging a lot of money for an inspection with leakdown/compression check + full frame/body check. And I don't really trust most dealer's service...

Any other shops??
