This isn't necessarily true. I've recently read several articles on the subject of mixing different gasolines to get a particular octane number and researchers have found that you can't just plug it into an equation to determine what you'll get. There are a number of different things that they put into gasoline to help get the octane numbers and they don't always behave linearly.
It could take half a gallon to 10 gallons or it could take two or three to get 92 octane, you can't be sure. I wish I could give you a straight answer rather than more things to watch out for.
yeah, its probably not linear. I had not thought about that. I guess only way to know your octane levels for sure would be to fill up the complete tank at 100 octane.
And oh yeah, you can also get the 100 octane at Sears Point and Thunder Hill raceways.
oooooooooooor, you can just go into any kragen's and get an octane boost. preferably NOS brand, for "racing" use only. there's like three different kinds of NOS octane boost: street use, racing use, and off roading use. get which ever one suits your purpose. empty it into your gas tank before you gas up (same place you put the nozzle into), then just gas up like normal, good luck!
yeah, and with the S2, it also clogs the fuel injectors. but it is an option if the guy wants higher octane. i guess i didn't read the post real closely, and i thought he wanted it for ocassional use only, like when he goes up to the trax.

I've used this Gas. I find the Max benefit runs out at 94 octane. The car has knock sensors so it will retard timing if octane is not high enough, therefore you can get some benefit from runing the highest octane that the ECU's charts allow for ie. 94 octane. When I ran it I found that starts, and idle were smoother, acceleration seemed a little stronger and you maintained better performance in HOT weather. The differences were not AMAZING and probably wouldn't show up on a dyno, but drivability was increased. Not sure if it's worth the $$$ though. When I'm down in that part of the bayarea, I'll usually throw in 2-3 gallons with the rest 91.
