There are some cool people in SJ. I have a couple of really good female friends that live there (one of them is a bit of a druggie, though! 
). It would probably help Zarina (sp?) out if the two of you approached others together, though... so it doesn't seem so "creepy".
Your wife's looks are probably intimidating as well. If you think about it, chix are very competitive, even if they don't show it. If they start hanging with Z, she whould be take alot of the male attention away from them.
Another thing, my GFs newest friends have ended up being girls that are significant others of some of my friends. If you make some friends out there, she will inherit the significant other.
