What's a good price for a coilover install?
I'm getting charged $150 for labor on a coilover installation, is that a relatively low price? For the people who had a shop do the installation, how much did you guys pay?

Send it here I'll install it for free for you. In all honesty I'm pretty sure you could find a fellow S owner in your area that is willing to help you install. Cheaper and you learn how to DIY at the same time.
If you willing to try and take a crack at it yourself there is a DIY on the site.
To answer your question $150 isn't bad for the install.

I've been asked up to $300, + $100 for alignment.
I think I'm gonna end up doing it at The Shop in San Bruno. I've been asked $195 + $80 for alignment, but I heard they're good, and if I know they're good it's worth a little extra $$$...
Anyways where are you getting it done for $150?
I'm changing wheels as well when I'll do the coilovers install

it depends on whats involved...
if the $150 ship just slapping the coilover on thats a decent price.
if the shop that charges $300 because they put on your coilover, adjust your preload , and finish off with an alignment, i would go this route.
but if you want just slap on and go..$150 is not bad.

Slap them on, drive around for a week & test out different height settings depending on what your purpose is. Once you have it all settled in, you can either have the car corner balanced & then aligned. I dont personally believe corner balancing does much for the S2K in particular unless you are at a racing level; but it is nice to do if youre settled on the ride height you desire & have the funds open for it.
Definitely get the car realigned. Also anticipate if you plan on installing any Bump Steer kits, RCAs or Camber Adjustors - if you are, put those on first before doing the alignment after you get the ride height down.

I ended up doing mine at the shop because I could do it all in one shot. Allignment and install.. Total it was a little over $300 because my top hats had to be drilled through for my gc/koni's but the prices I got were relatively the same across the board from shop to shop.

I wanna say I paid $250~ for a full install, setup to my specs and alignment. $150 doesn't seem bad at all for a install, w/e any of the extra services (which you WILL want to get). If that price does include a post install alignment, then that's a steal (providing they do quality work and won't leave you with more headaches than you walked in with).
