What's the deal with some Bay Area S2K'ers?

More and more "non-enthusiasts" are getting S2000's as there are more and more coming on the used market. As they decrease in value (I know it hurts but it's true) there will be less feeling of "community" and exclusivity in having had such a fine and rare car when they were more rare.
Heck I got ignored even when I first got my car by other owners. I still wave, but in a casual "Harley" way so if I get ignored it just looks like I am scratching my nose or something. Allows you to retain a bit of self-respect that way.

Interestingly enough, this afternoon on my way to work down Lone Tree way (in Antioch) a guy on the passenger side in a white van started talking to me. He was asking me all sorts of things about my car and was genuinely surprised that the car has been on the market since 2000. He said he had never seen one before and that it was a real beaut of a car... reminding him of some of the old Corvettes. He was even more impressed when I told him that it was only four cylinders n/a putting out 240 hp.
I don't see other S2k's very often, but it may have to do with my commute. I work from 2pm to 10pm, so if there are any other S2k owners out in the East Bay they are probably in their offices working when I'm commuting.

The only other community i've witnessed that is as joyous as those on s2ki are the Jeep Wrangler owners... and i know they always wave at each other... i owned one and dont remember another Wrangler owner not waving.... communities like this take time... oh well, i'm always on the lookout for other s2k's on the street and never miss waving at them.
