Really, I was thinking the same thing. I guess that was still summertime, but still...

there will always be someone who says they paid less and someone who says they paid more....these cars are avialable in a "soft" market and you can negociate depending on how motivated the dealer is and how knowledgeable you are on the cost of the car to them.
when i bought my car in nov of 2003 honda S2000's had a pack of $4800 over sticker...that's 38,000! that was ending but every dealer started there. i negociated my car over email and the phone and then came and bought it, if i wanted to wait i would have had 1st choice of colors, instead of 2nd and i am very happy with what i got after all.
my car cost 32000 plus T&L, that was about what i could do locally with my trade (i had to get rid of it NOW, long story) and that is why i went locally to dump the other car. Now you can do better...
just get the e mails from 6 dealers in the area, tell them you are a BUYER ....NOW>>>this weekend even. ask for their best price, out the door broken down with T&L showing. Do not give a phone number yet...
after you get some interesting emails back you can talk by phone...this will not take long...you can do the price over the phone saving time and hassle. then go buy it, simple as that. i would guess that anyone who does something like that would be able to get the car for within $500 of their invoice, which is excellent.
USed, 25% markup, you do that match there.
