Im not in the bay area, but I got mines for $30,100, just a tad less then invoice (destination fee included) Before tags, title & license + plus wheel locks. Im located in Orange County, bought mines at the end of November. I basically spoke with the fleet manager over the phone, he gave me a quote for $30,500. I came into the dealer, counter offered a few times. He seem to not want to go any lower than $30,300. I told him, well thanks for your time, I will shop around at the other 20+ honda dealers and im sure one of them will beat your price, so you can either gain my business now or lose it over a few hundred bucks. So he immediately started to prepare the paper work. Hope this help ya.

I like this option the best as well. It's pretty close to what I did when I bought my '02 a few years back. The interest rate between 48 and 60 months shouldn't differ by much, if at all, and you can always minimize interest by paying off the loan early. You get a lower monthly obligation just in case anything bad happens financially. Always nice to have some spare cash for wonderful unexpected stuff.

^^ All the costs will naturally vary from case to case, but I can tell you about how it works out for me.

I downed in the neighborhood of $10k and financed the rest. So my monthly is about $360 over 60 months, although that will be paid off early in the near future. I pay about $105 per month for insurance with 100/300/100 coverage and $100 comprehensive and $500 collision deductibles. Maintenance is pretty minimal. I change the engine, tranny, and differential fluids regularly, as well as replace tires, and that's about it. Averaged out, a real rough (and I mean real rough) guess might be like $40-$60 a month? Gas is the most expensive expense for me. I commute about 100 miles a day so I visit the gas station every 2-3 days. I spend more than $250 a month on gas.

Mine is only street driven, though. But at over 70k miles, it hasn't been a terribly expensive car to own.

Was planning on getting it from Blair in Sacramento, but trying to arrange having the car shipped back to San Jose was proving to be more trouble than it was worth.

That said, last night, I walked into Hopkins Honda in Sunnyvale on a whim, and offered them $29,995 (including destination), thinking there's no way they would accept it. After some haggling and runaround, they agreed, and I drove off with a 2005 Silverstone/Black in a little less than 2 hours.

Nice deal!!

I just found out it's going to be at least another 30 days until my evo is bought back, so I can't do anything right now on my s2k purchase.

I did stop by Stevens Creek Honda and Brian (sales guy) offered me $500 over invoice. I guess we're getting closer. He actually has what appears to be an 01-03 suzuka blue, lowered, aftermarket wheels... I guess he may be on this board.
