Default what'd you pay for your 2004/2005 in the bay area?

Hey guys/ladies

So I'm going to be working on the best deal on a MY05 in the bay area. We have a nice selection here I'd say, about 20 dealers within 50 miles of San Jose. I'm just curious what you guys paid in terms of $$$ over invoice.

I'm looking at a deal right now which is $300 over invoice but it's not local. So far Autowest Honda offered me $1200 over invoice (laughable) and San Leandros offered me about $1000 over invoice.

Thanks for any info ya'll have. I have a broker who can get it to me for $500 over invoice for sure (or pick up the $300 over invoice car mentioned above) but it would require some traveling or freight.

The idea of flying out to pick up my new baby and drive her home does sound appealing though.

What about the hardtopguy deal? http://www.hardtopguy.com/store/customer/p...=103&cat=&page=

I thought they had a Cali dealer in the mix. Central coast somewhere.

I would try to use that ad to levelarage the internet sales peeps at the local dealers as much as possible.

winter + rain = lots of S2000's on the lots
i'd say email a bunch of dealerships near you and get <$500 over invoice.....

OK so my expectations for $300 over invoice are pretty good, excellent.

Halo, the hardtopguydeal isn't really that stellar given $300 over invoice is $30,455.

i'd say $300 over invoice is a good deal...sure you can wait and try and get invoice, but if you have the color combo you want i say pull the trigger.....

I concur. Unfortunately I have to wait out my current car situation (lemon law suit) until I can do anything. I just like to get everything ready to go far in advance for these kinds of things.

Since its currently the winter season here, i have seen plenty of S on the lots, but i am holding out to save some more money, i am currently shooting for march, maybe end of april , for those who have bought cars how does these months fair with getting a good deal , i know that summer will be right around the corner.? any comments welcome,

also would you buy now in hopes of getting a better deal and deal with the higher payments (im financing)

here is my dilema, buy an o4 now and put 10k down and pay around $460 a month for 48 months?

put down 10k and pay around $380 for 60 months ?

or , put down 15k in april and pay around $350 for 48 months, ?

any advice or comments welcome thanks.

firefighter, march/april will be too late in this area to negotiate a winter discount. If you're going to act on the winter time price drops, do it before the end of January. It's different in, say, NY, where it's fuggin cold until the end of May!

As for the financing part, that's all you man. I'd get an '05 at this point, better resale value down the line if you need to dump it or want out in 4 years. And I personally would do the $380/month 60-mo financing as long as the APR was comparable to that of the 48mo financing option. If it's obscenely higher, go with the 48mo and know that you're saving a bundle on interest.
